Each Center for Working Families (CWF) site welcomes volunteers. Opportunities include:

  • Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Volunteers are needed to help low-income families access free tax preparation services. VITA Center volunteers may serve as tax preparers, greeters, screeners, schedulers, and other helpful assistants. If you are interested, find out more through Indy’s Campaign for Financial Fitness.
  • Guest presenters in financial literacy workshops. If you are experienced helping people with their finances, we welcome guest speakers on topics including debt management, banking relationships, credit repair, and other money management topics. CWF also seeks financial institutions willing to connect with families concerning their options on financial products and services.
  • Guest presenters in job readiness workshops. If you are knowledgeable in helping people find jobs or accessing educational programs, we welcome guest speakers to discuss employment and training opportunities in Indianapolis. CWF also welcomes local employers to share job search tips and job openings to skilled candidates seeking work.
  • CWF sites offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities such as education tutors, after-school program volunteers, youth mentors, activity volunteers for senior programs, or kitchen aids.

To find out more about these volunteer opportunities, please contact a CWF site directly.
